John Breslin I fucking love this band. They've been doing the business live for a good while now and this album is a celebration of all things good and proper in the world. Favorite track: Ego Death in Akron, Ohio.

peggyspizzahouse One of the crowning jewels of the current Belfast music scene. Junk Drawer is a band to obsess over. One of the most deeply felt albums in recent memory - with a wit and instrumental nerve that never undermines the sincerity and beauty of their work. Favorite track: INFJ.
Dolores Vischer

Dolores Vischer Just love this album - from start to finish!

Ursula's Crow Temporary Day - if Arnold Layne had moved to Cleveland and teamed up with Peter Laughner from Père Ubu, perhaps he would have come up with something like this. Epic. Favorite track: Temporary Day.

Sometimes I dream of coloured worlds of no hurt. Surround me in warmth & bright, sparkling, all-knowing glow. All so distinct you stop just to absorb the thought that all matters & does not, but none of it can be bought. I have arrived, I know the secret to contentment now I can see a thousand screens with different strains of possibilities, but it’s alright Tense, but mellow, prudently waiting for wings to grow There is no great secret Now I’m dreaming that every day of the life not lived is the past I grasp at trains of thought, ever present but somehow not, an overarching melody that never resolves Allow the many thoughts undulate into themselves, you into twists and turns, the likes of which you’d only read in a Richard Madeley novel. They’ll knock you out of your centre, and at some point I realised that time’s the only thing we spend fades away, everything else is traded Subject to change.

Give Yourself Junk Drawer: People talk about the storm that’s coming, a thousand lives through cinema’s shelves/ Talk to strangers in hotel lobbies, get my leads through cinema’s shelves/ People talk about the golden era, I saw it and nothing changed/ Late night thoughts like they're everybody's Gospel - But I could tell you that from my sofa, Judging your steps to improve in vain. I need time Give me time before the genius strikes There was a man who drew broad, hidden truths with his pen, they said The work/words more lucid than they were to himself But when he got what he wanted it was what he once wanted/ Elevated ruminations, when everybody goes down/ And at the party, when the band kept playing, they never asked me to play their game A thousand pages in the book you’ll never know now, I never even found out his name I need time Give me tiiiiiime Before I I think we might need to make some corrections, Rationalising fears as misdirection/Living out fantasies by self-rejection You’ll find me on the couch, spinning webs of accumulated lies Fantasies that leave me unsatisfied Remember when’s the lowest form of conversation Remember when gets you to a lot of places Fantasies that leave me unsatisfied No today, but tomorrow is all miiiiine Another burnt out for the niiiight Drawing broad strokes of accumulated liiiies Fantastic that leave me unsatisfied

I heard the captain counting his pennies, Was a conflict of motion he was caught in between. But his eyes are sad when he thinks I'm not looking. I've seen people at monuments who still want something to see, But I'll make the trip all the while even though it won't fix me. The servant's distracted by the great narrative, But he knows he can't disrupt it; it can't be outlived. In my world no one feels sick from their thoughts or their bones. Ever since I felt ego death in Ohio. Those blood vessels start to rest after a while, My ego death always meant so much to me.

Mumble Days 05:02
On the night of crooked half-lies, you stayed a while to catch unknown eyes. I turned to my conscience who wiped away the sweat and I was told he must be better off having not met me yet. Nostalgic tales that you hold onto, Those thoughts can always be so cruel, Remain under glow 'til the confounded low, and I'll hide away on the mumble-ridden days. But he's not afraid to speak his mind today. To lay with a man is always okay, and it feels strange to feel at ease. All's not lost, it's just escaping me again. We stumbled through the motions in quick succession while men lined up to settle into their skin. An anecdote that's well-refined touches on my brittle mind, and stomach acid hurts my singing voice. But the ice cubes are still melting in my mind, and I'm gonna pay my friends a compliment today & I'll try to be more. I don't need a muse to try & get me through the day. Singing smothered in hugs from taller windows today.

INFJ 08:02
Oh look I found myself against the wall, against the wall. Oh God she shot herself against the wall, against the wall. I got inside his head, against the wall against the wall. Oh sweet vagaries, unending paths that do not meet I don’t know, I cannot see, I’ll tell you secrets you can’t keep, But if I say a thousand things I might be able to say nothing at all Oh sweet vagaries unending paths that do not meet, If I feel a thousand things I might as well feel nothing at all If I say a thousand things then maybe I’ll be able to say nothing at all Sometimes I’ll steal a little cry (in the mornings), But mostly I sigh. And maybe I’ll try. Nothing matters because I can tell you the way you feel, and the way I feel Only can think about how many things I'm thinking about.  90% maxim, just need one to myself so I can slip away “I wish I could make them stop” <deleted> Come to the land of the nice and slow Where only moonlight lives and (the) heartstrings know
6.
A temporary day to breathe the silence & not obtain. When fog will ascend once more to free all the pores I’ve clogged again. Entrenched by the each poor prior take cements the ill-fate of a wanting mind, The pulsing echo spiral that never track where it flows to.
7.
Pile 05:58
Another series of forgotten thoughts to chronicle my year, They were interesting enough to publish, not enough to make them care, If you find me wandering, please stop to ask me why, because I’ve lost myself to myself and I’m gonna miss me when I’m gone Set speed of the engine from tortoise to sloth. Of the deadly sins, it’s one I'm most guilty of The answer will come, but slowly now, In a silent way Just one stolen moment less endless At the point where delight fades into delirium, A tapestry of idiosyncrasy is how I’ll live my The road forks ahead of me, Now I see there’s no meaning I asked “hey brain, hey work with me buddy" but he laughed/turned and walked away You made that journey across the desert without a canteen less endless
